Barney the beagle and more!!!

My wife and I adopted Barney from the humane society about 2 years ago. He was abused by his previous owners and was left behind when they moved. Barney had to chew through the window screen and escape the apartment because he was hungry and thirsty. He was roaming the streets for awhile begging for food and finding what ever he can to eat. Thank God someone picked him up and took him to the humane society where he was adopted by us. He was there for a month. We fell in love with him and applied to be his parents. We got approved and went to pick him up. When we got there he was in a fenced in dog run with another dog. The other dog was loud and obnoxious so Barney tackled him down and submitted him. I was thought he might be aggressive and thought we should not take him home. But I took him anyway.

Barney was very distant at first. He seemed scared and often would hide and sleep behind a recliner. after about 2 months he started sleeping with us, kissing us, and accepted us. He had a hard time with going in the house but we got over that hump. He's about 5 years old now and he is so loving and affectionate. He's purely a gift from God. He never showed and aggression.

He loves to chase the vacuum, eat and lay around either on the bed or the couch. He makes a funny snorting noise and snores unlike any other dog I heard. He's so precious to us and we would be very sad with out him.
